Most children miss out on the crucial window of time where a sense of rhythm is developed very quickly. It is of course a shame that most of us were confronted with rhythm far too late in our life, but this does not mean that growth is no longer possible! Many may think a sense of rhythm is inborn (hence the old adage "you need to be born with rhythm"), but this is just a myth.

But why then have some people a better sense of rhythm then others? What exactly lies at the root of having a bad sense of rhythm? And how can you still acquire talent for rhythm on later age?
